Man emails sex video of ex-GF; is nabbed
MANILA, Philippines – A former call center agent has been arrested in Quezon City for allegedly spreading, through the Internet, a sex video of his former girlfriend.
The suspect, who police identified as Hener Caunte, 21, was nabbed on Thursday with the help of the victim in an entrapment operation on Litex Road.
The video showed his girlfriend and a man having sexual intercourse; it was passed on to all the girl’s relatives using the victim’s e-mail address, a police investigator said.
Case investigator PO3 Maribel Versoza said Caunte would be charged with violation of Republic Act 9262 or the Anti-Violence against Women and Children Act.
Based on the victim’s statement to the police, the scandalous footage could have been taken on Jan. 23, 2009, in one of their “nights-out” where she claimed she passed out and woke up inside a hotel room.
The victim also said that she and Caunte had been living together for the past three months at the house of the suspect’s relative in Antipolo City, but broke up on Jan. 25.
The 24-year-old single mother added that at the height of their argument, the suspect did not agree to a break-up and instead threatened her that he would spread a video footage where they were intimate.
“I ignored his threat because I never knew we’ve been filmed, but when I checked my mother’s e-mail two days after, I saw the horrible video,” she said.
She further said the suspect who knew her password in her e-mail used it to spread the scandalous video online.
The suspect, police said, denied uploading and sending out the footage.
“He said he loves her, why would he embarrass her that way,” police quoted the suspect as saying.
